When I was 23, I was a flight attendant for United Airlines. And during this time, I often got asked the question, “So, what do you do?” I’d smile and respond, “I am a flight attendant.” But in the back of my mind a little voice would pipe up and say, “You are a Professional Experiencer!” (Now, I know that “experiencer” is not really a word, but it is my made up word that I will use throughout this blog.) For what else are we humans here on earth to do? But experience life!
So, that is where the title comes from and it is from this perspective of living that I will write this blog. After all, everything from our particular life experience provides us each with a different viewpoint. We’ve all developed our own unique belief system based on what we’ve been exposed to, how we interpreted it, and how it’s made us feel. None is right, none is wrong; we are all just living as best we can with the knowledge, support, and opportunities we’ve received.
Thus, we can all benefit from recognizing how we feel in any given moment and allowing our feelings to be our guide so we can experience greater joy and personal fulfillment right here, and right now. We can define our level of happiness in life based on how well we are experiencing life in each and every moment. You always have the power to change your experience. The question is, are you taking responsibility for your own happiness?
