Trust Yourself

It’s a valuable thing, to learn how to trust yourself. If only so you don’t become reliant on others’ opinions to steer your ship. Though well-intentioned as they may be, no one knows you like you.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve taken your own way dozens of times, yet because of “not being where you want to be in life” right now, you lack the confidence to trust your instincts. And, this makes you more vulnerable to follow what “society” suggests is best. But you must learn to think for yourself now no matter how much time has passed where you feel as though you “haven’t gotten your life together.”

Truth is, there is no “one life fits all;” each one of us has to carve out our own path and that takes time, trial and error, and life experience. We can’t know what we want until we go out and live! For some it takes less time than others, but it doesn’t matter how long it takes so much as it matters that we never give up. Our own life experiences will cause us to course correct every now and then, and that’s normal! So even when you think you’ve made some mistakes and that trusting yourself isn’t such a good idea, know that that’s never the case. Rather, you had to go through what you did in order to learn, grow, etc. Just remember, the day you stop trusting yourself, is the day you give your power away.
