Time Teaches

You must be patient with your life, with the unfolding of it.  One day you think you’ve got it… then the next you don’t… You change your mind and wonder and question and fear and doubt.  But life always unfolds the way it is supposed to.  Just do your best to stay present.  This will help you shut out that nagging “woulda-coulda-shoulda” voice.

Remember, life is about taking risks.  And you don’t always know what to do. That’s why you have your intuition.  Learning to listen to it will help you trust in yourself and your decisions more.

Enjoy the journey.  Life is always changing, and the changing can be fun and amazing if you don’t let yourself get caught up in the “where is this taking me?” thought.  Promise yourself not to get concerned with the end result or “think” you need to figure it out.  I catch myself thinking of “how” and then I know I’ve got to stop.  Let life unfold the way IT wants to… IT wants to bless you!!! Remember: YOU DON’T ALWAYS NEED TO KNOW.  Practice being okay with the unknown.

My very good friend recently told me, when I went off on a series of “why?” questions, that I just needed to stop “why-ing” for a while and start “because-ing”!  He said, “Every time you start to doubt and feel the need to know why something happened, just say, ‘Because.'”  This has definitely short-circuited the circle of negative energy that often arises – paralyzing me to make a decision – only because I fear not knowing the outcome.  Really, our only concern about anything should be, does it make us feel good?  Are we truly enjoying ourselves through no harm of others?

In the end, we’ll look back and have more clarity on why things happened the way they did. But we can’t have that clarity until enough time passes! So just, take a breath. Try and relax. And know that sooner or later, you’ll know… just not… right… now.
