We tend to write about, preach about, and think about all the things we need to do. This is why the saying, “We teach what we most need to learn” is so true. And perhaps that’s why we blog, shoot videos, and become counselors. And there’s no shame in this. We do all these things because we inherently know what advice we need – we just don’t always take our own advice. Instead, we share it with others. Why? Because we don’t trust ourselves with our advice as much as we feel empowered to use it to help others.
So, how can we learn to trust ourselves and start taking our own advice? Time and experience. Practicing the art of letting God work through us. Allowing our ego to take a nap and our intuition to get into the driver’s seat. Taking time to be alone, empty our minds, and feel content without anything. These are all ways to get into the state where where God can flow through us. Then, after enough practice observing what happens in our lives when we really do relax and get out of the way, we’ll soon have enough faith in ourselves (in our inner Self – a.k.a. God) to take our own advice.
