Taking Your Fears With You

I was just on a beautiful morning run when I had this epiphany about fears come. Sometimes while running on uneven ground, my mind starts to worry about my ankle twisting. It is in these moments that I remind myself that it’s okay if I’m worried about this happening, but I’m going to take that fear with me and keep running anyway.

I think this is one of the ways to be successful in life; when you, instead of run from your fear or resist your fear, embrace it and tell it it’s okay to be there. You don’t even have to try and make it go away! You just have to allow it to come along as you fulfill your desire.

Once you tell yourself it’s okay to have that fear and experience that uncomfortable emotion, it seems to melt away, as if it just needed to be acknowledged. We may never be able to outrun our fears, but we can learn to bring them with us without allowing them to halt our progress.
