Passion is Energy

When you don’t have energy, you don’t have passion, and this means you are not being inspired. To be inspired is to be “in spirit,” with spirit, engaged with creative ideas that Spirit provides. So, when you feel down and out, it is likely that you need to find a way to reconnect to your spirit first.

Your second chakra, Swadhisthana, is the area of your body that houses your emotions, passions, and pleasures. It is also called your sacral chakra and it is located just below your belly button and just above your pubic bone. What lies here are all the things that bring you joy; that bring a sacredness to your life. If you feel empty, lost, and adrift from your passions, with no view of “joy” in sight, there’s a good chance you could benefit from doing sacral chakra clearing and balancing exercises.

The word Swadhisthana actually translates to “one’s own dwelling place.” This reminds me of the importance of feeling safe in one’s own personal environment. We all need to feel we have some place to go, to call home, to nurture our authentic natures and let our freak selves show. Literally, how many of you live in a space where you feel you are always walking on eggshells? Where you can’t be yourself? If this is the case, it’s highly likely your sacral chakra is walled off, closed, up, and you’re having trouble accessing your life force energy.

Life force energy stems from this place within us because it is the place where creativity blossoms, where babies grow, and where we connect most with our kundalini energy. When this chakra is open, aligned, and well-functioning, we have no problem accessing (and expressing) creative ideas from within us. We have a strong libido and zest for life. We have passion because we have energy coursing through us constantly.

In astrology, I believe the 2nd chakra could be linked to the 8th house – as this is the house of sex and intimacy – which all have to do with our sacral chakra as well. The 8th house is where I have Chiron (the wounded healer archetype) and it is definitely in this area where I have been wounded the most. It is also in this area of my physical body that I experience the most pain and discomfort. Specifically, the left side of my low back, (the receiving side) is where the problem area is. I bring this up to help you pinpoint where your own symptoms lie so that you can investigate the chakra center most deeply connected to that area of your body and then see what correlations you can find within your astrology chart to make more sense of how to heal.

Chiron is the major place to start when looking for your core wound. When you uncover Chiron in your astrology chart, you will find the source of your pain that’s affected you all throughout your life. The house Chiron is in tells you about the specific area of life that holds your greatest wound, and the zodiac sign tells you further information. Once you learn what your wound is, where your wound is, and how to heal yourself from your wound, you will then free up a tremendous amount of energy that will flow through your 2nd chakra, enlivening your passions, and returning a state of joy and creativity to your life.
