Own Being You

You gotta own being you. If you’re a perfectionist and you like things a certain way, embrace that. Many others are lazy and disorganized. So what’s wrong with wanting to be precise and particular? Neat and organized? Maybe erring a little on OCD? I’m not kidding. I’ve spent my life trying to change myself into something I’m just not.

And let me tell you… breaking free from “trying” is LIBERATING!!! When you try conforming yourself into something you’re just ‘not,’ don’t you always default to your old patterns anyway? Stop buying the wrong shoes, stop wearing the wrong clothes. Be comfortable! Dress and move in a way that’s you. Are you ultra competitive and like to go fast? Then go fast! Stop feeling guilty for leaving others behind or passing everyone in sight. We’re all wired differently. Some people like to stop and smell the roses, other people want to go directly from point A to point B. Nothing wrong with either approach.

And if you’re still figuring out who you are and how you roll, you are who you are when you’re all alone – by yourself – with no where to go and no one to impress. And that’s what you gotta own.
