Make Time for Music

For the people who already appreciate the therapeutic value of music, you may want to skip over this blog. However, for the rest of you who only ever listen to books on Audible, podcasts, and other informational material (like me), you may want to read on…

There is one simple reason I have found to make time for music: it helps you to stop overthinking.

Listening to music helps you get out of your head and into your body.  When you’re in your body – and not your head – you can become more aware of your personal vibration and the type of energy you’re putting out. This is important because if you don’t know what you’re putting out, you won’t know what you’re attracting in (or why). I find it easiest to “get back into the music” when I take a road trip.  This is the perfect time because my body is already primed to unwind.  Then, when I return, I naturally find myself enjoying music more than I did before.

One of the reasons we get scatter-brained and ungrounded, is because we are thinking too much; we’re living in our heads, overanalyzing, thinking of the future (or the past), and neglecting the very moment we’re in.  So take a moment now and just breathe… Get present. Turn on some good music, and feel what it feels like to just be in your body again.
