I was walking through the forest on an introspective hike, when I asked God for guidance and received the answer: “Listen.” One of my biggest lessons has been about patience; about waiting long enough to let God give me the “go ahead” which always happens through energized inspiration. Meaning, it’s so natural-feeling I couldn’t not take action.
But, before I can act accordingly, I must listen carefully. And sometimes, the listening spans days or weeks, months or years. One of the hardest things about this unpredictable time frame, is trusting – trusting that I didn’t miss a sign or I didn’t miss my chance – I just haven’t been given the information yet.
A prayer that often brings me peace when I feel anxious for an answer is: “Thank you God for giving me a clear response in your own time.”
Once we are given the answers we seek, we can act on them with confidence and know that if there is any doubt, we need only pray again and God will offer us further validation.
