This is a quote I made up to reinforce the idea that having faith is just as important as having knowledge. Please note: I am not advocating that you ignore the facts and deny logicical reasoning. What I am suggesting is that you learn how to trust yourself so you don’t have to rely on someone else’s dogma. My idea of not having to “know anything” is meant to relieve the overwhelmed mind; to suggest that peace can come even during the unknown. The overwhelmed mind is one that thinks too much, overalazyes, and bases it’s decisions solely on logic – not the mind that is already delusional and acting without any forethought. We must know who we are, how we operate – what our personalities and tendencies are – before we seek advice from others.
The idea that you already know everything comes from the assumption that if God lives inside you, why wouldn’t you already be equipped with all the answers? Though your ego may not think so, the truth is, you just need to learn how to tap into all that wisdom within. Now, that said, this doesn’t mean you are going to know everything that everyone else knows. It simply means you are going to know everything that you need to know. For example, you can’t expect to know everything that everyone else does when you have been brought up differently, raised in a different community, and groomed to fit within a specific culture your whole life. We all have different sets of knowledge based on the experiences we have lived through and the people we have associated with. And, it is precisely these experiences that imprint us with our current belief system.
The truth is, you came into this world with everything you need to know – about you / for you. Sure, you can learn what you want to learn from anyone you meet or anything you read. Then, you simply must decide on your own how it makes you feel inside. If it makes you feel good, accept it. If it makes you feel bad, disregard it; or better yet, examine if it makes you feel bad because it’s triggering something you need to look at more deeply in order to grow. The key is to trust your feelings; not disregard them just because others’ views may differ from your’s. In regards to faith, remember that you really do have all the answers you need at any given moment, when you learn to trust yourself. When you learn to trust yourself you are actually trusting your Higher Power to give you all the answers at the exact time you need them – in whatever delivery message It chooses to relay them. This can be incredibly liberating as it invites the magic of infinite possibilities back into your life.
