It’s okay if…
You are an angry person
A stubborn person
A type-A, hyper organized, can’t sit still person
A “want more alone time” person
An “I’d rather stay home and not be social” person
A flighty person
And ESPECIALLY a selfish person.
You must realize that there’s nothing wrong with you, there’s nothing that you have to change. You probably already know how to be a good person, and you’re probably just beating yourself up for your own inherent nature.
Stop it. You can’t fight with your own nature. You can only accept it, learn to work with it, and love it for the drive, productivity, and inner strength that it gives you. You probably have great energy, and only feel depleted when you are busy feeling guilty that you are not out socializing – because you’d rather stay home and clean your house or read a book. That’s okay! Doesn’t a clean, well-organized home make you feel happy, at peace, and content? Doesn’t that book ground you and give you sense of calm? Then stop comparing yourself with the outgoing, sociable extrovert who could care less about her house, but who needs human connection to thrive. That’s. Not. You.
Realize that: most of the time, you doing your own thing is what makes you happiest. And stop judging yourself for it – or trying to look for flaws within it, because there’s nothing you need to change! Sometimes, as humans, we get addicted to drama, and in our already-too-fast-paced life, we think we need to add more stress to our shoulders! And then we wonder why two massages and two chiropractic adjustments per month won’t fix us! Ugh! And then… we fall into a pit of despair and label ourselves “depressed.”
Sound familiar?
Take a deep breath. This blog is not meant to stress you out even more. It is meant to help you realize that there are a LOT of other people out there just like you! And it’s okay to be you! To have emotions, to want your down time, to need a deeper connection with your Self, and above all, to love, honor, and respect your Self by approving of your Self for being you!
