We need to state the obvious for ourselves more than anyone else. When we hear ourselves reiterate our own philosophies time and time again, we start to trust ourselves more; we start to trust the stuff we come up with. And it doesn’t matter if you didn’t come up with the phrase or you’re not the orginial thinker of the idea, the point is, when you were alone with your own mind, you thought this thought which inspired further action.
And just because it’s obvious to you, doesn’t mean it’s obvious to everyone else. So say it. Write it, sing it, paint it. Just do something with it. Get it out. Express it. The worst thing your audience will say is, “duh.” And the best: “Fewwhh, I’m not alone.”
Whenever we decide to create, to use an inspired idea to connect with the rest of the world, we take a risk. And fears are natural. “What if’s” are common. But at the end of the day, not challenging yourself and using your gifts is a far greater detriment than accidentally stating the obvious.
