No Need to Justify

Do you ever catch yourself justifying your actions to others? Or do you feel the need to justify your behavior before even implementing it? Well, I’m here to tell you that you can stop justifying everything to everyone! Still feeling embarrassed about what someone else might think? Still feel the need to explain why it is you do what you do? Then here’s where your strength of character will begin to grow – as you learn to relinquish the desire to control what everyone else thinks about you.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s your good friend, your family, your kids or your spouse, you don’t need to feel obligated to explain yourself. It’s okay to just “do what you do” – or do not do – without justification. You may find this hard at first because you want to control what others think of you – but the truth is, you can never really change what others think of you anyway. Plus, it’s a waste of your energy to try. But find comfort in knowing that you are not alone – we all want to be “seen” in a certain light and thus we justify our behaviors for self-preservation. It takes some effort and maturity, but it’s possible to break the habit and save your breath, if you really want to.
