Every time you encounter a new hurdle in front of you, just remember how many you’ve surmounted in the past. This has been instrumental for me during my studies. Each time I enter a new class and have another project or exam to complete, I just remember my past successes and I lean on them.
Reflection is something worthwhile. Yet it’s often something we brush off as a waste of time. When was the last time you glanced down memory lane or took a look at yourself in that graduation hat? How about when you won that medal, got that promotion at work, or bought your first house? Did you celebrate till the cows came home when you got married, bought your first car, or finally moved out of your parents’? There are so many milestones that often get overlooked, when a little glance backwards could go a long way in helping us remember all that we are worthy of receiving – not just “capable of achieving” but worthy of receiving.
Did I strike a nerve? Good. Because we all get jaded from time to time, wonder why certain opportunities pass us by, but life’s so-called “negative” events are not to be taken personally. Lest we never forget our eternal deservingness; our unshakable worthiness – to have it all, receive it all, and keep experiencing the bounty of goodness that life unendingly wants to send our way. Alas, it is never our ability to receive that is the problem, it is our own flawed mental perception of our worthiness that’s caused a road blockage. Now it’s up to us to clear the path.
