Soak up Life

Whenever you begin to doubt yourself, I encourage you to reflect back on your life.  This is one reason I write.  Writing helps us remember who we are.  Sometimes too, we are supposed to “go with the flow” while other things are being worked out that we cannot see.  So even after reviewing our writings and believing everything is working itself out for the best, there are still moments of “nothingness.”  Where it seems nothing is happening.  What I like to do during these “nothingness” times, is soak up life!  Go!  Lay out on the back patio and catch a ray, run with the dog, or play with your kids.  Have fun!  Soak up the moments you wouldn’t be able to if you were busy knowing what you “should be doing.” 

It’s interesting to me that I wrote in one of my old flight attendant journals, how when I was in Hong Kong, I loved to see the women there out exercising in the streets at 4 am.  I wrote how “My heart cried out: Cool!  I love seeing that!  These people are so in tune with their bodies!  And they don’t care what others may think!”  These women made me want to live in a place where people are so life–minded in their health conscious ways; a place where there are progressive, mindful, and healthy people.  (It’s no wonder I ended up living in the state of Colorado!)  This simple example of me taking the time to notice my surroundings in Hong Kong, is a perfect example of “taking it in,” or experiencing life and then drawing my own preferences from it. It’s what being a professional experiencer is all about!
